Unbelievable
It was very cold today with snow shower for most of the day. For us, no much difference, just lower temperature. But for certain industry, it would be a difficult day.
Ill news travels fast. Although good news travels at the same speed. A US Airways plane crashed into Hudson river soon after it set off in LGA. It is said the plane had been attacked by a group of birds. The flight, US Airways 1549, was an A-320 manufactured by Airbus was carrying as many as 146 passengers and five crew members, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The plane’s pilot reported a bird strike shortly before the plane went down.
I saw the pictures, really horrible! The rescue teams were trying to save people from the frigid waters and some passengers were standing on the plane’s wings, the scene you could only see in the movie. Imagine, it was the coldest day in this winter, lower than -5 degree. Over 150 people were trapped. Luckily all of them were rescued and sent to hospital for checkup.
It has been long since last airline disaster. It reminds me of my previous experience. In February 2008, I flew from Tamper, Florida back to JFK. On that day, the storm attacked that area and the plane delayed for an hour. When it at last set off, it was still lightening and thundering. I was really worried, though soon I had no time to worry, but to be frightened. In the first hour of the flight, the plane seemed shaking all the time, up and down, making you feel floating on the cotton. At the same time, your heart would feel uncomfortable. Many people were praying. Anyway, persons with many flight experiences were not as scared as we were.
All the survivors of today’s accident must feel frightened and rejoiced. I also hope there would be less and less air accident.
Guess it is even colder here. Minus 18 in the morning of today.
but they are in the water, hehe, could not imagine it
